Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Otaku Forum, operated by Hanashi Media, LLC ("Hanashi Media", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Who can use Otaku Forum

You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live. Some content is marked for mature audiences and is available only to accounts that meet the age requirement and have chosen to see it.

2. Your account

You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in secure. Tell us promptly at contact@hanashi.media if you believe it has been compromised.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of the reviews, stories, art and other content you post. By posting it, you grant Hanashi Media a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and distribute it for the purpose of operating and promoting the service. You are responsible for having the rights to everything you post, and for making sure it does not infringe anyone else's.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Post content that is illegal, infringing, or that you do not have the right to share.
Post sexual content involving minors, or any content depicting real people without their consent.
Harass, threaten, impersonate, or incite violence against others.
Mislabel mature (NSFW) content, or evade the content-rating system.
Attempt to defraud the payment, coin, or payout systems, or to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service.
Scrape, overload, or otherwise interfere with the normal operation of the service.

5. Coins, donations and payouts

Coins are a prepaid virtual credit used within Otaku Forum. They have no cash value, are not transferable outside the service, and are generally non-refundable except where required by law. When you donate to a creator, the amount you send is credited to that creator in full; Hanashi Media's platform fee is applied only when the creator withdraws their earnings.

Only earnings from donations are eligible for withdrawal, and only from accounts that are correctly configured and eligible to monetise. Fraudulent activity, chargeback abuse, or hacking may result in suspension or permanent removal of the account and forfeiture of any balance held at the time — no negative balance is ever created, and forfeited funds are not refunded.

6. Mature content and eligibility to monetise

You must accurately declare whether your content includes mature (NSFW) material. Misdeclaring it may lead to a temporary or permanent ban. Due to the policies of our payment providers, accounts that include NSFW content are not currently eligible to monetise; we are working on a solution and will update this policy if that changes.

7. Moderation

We may remove content or restrict accounts that break these Terms. Where an account is restricted, you can still read your case and appeal it. We aim to be proportionate and to explain our decisions.

8. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or end access where these Terms are breached or where required by law.

9. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hanashi Media is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the service.
