This one has almost no readership and that's honestly a shame, because it's lovely. A vampire and a chocolatier is exactly the cozy, faintly melancholic odd-couple fantasy the title promises — warm, unhurried, and gone before it ever overstays its welcome.

It's a single volume, so it asks nothing of you but a quiet evening. If you're worn out on fourteen-volume power fantasies and want something small and heartfelt, start here. Give it a chance — it deserves far more eyes than it's found.

A charming premise that leans into found-family warmth without tipping into saccharine. The dynamic between the leads is the engine here, and the art direction sells the gentle tone before you've read a word.

It's a lighter read — don't come looking for intricate politics or high stakes — but as a feel-good fantasy it delivers exactly what it sets out to. Four short volumes that go down very easy.

I'll be straight with you: this is not high literature, and the anime adaptation is one of the more infamously rough isekai of its era. But reading the source, I get the appeal. Our hero starts as Seiichi — bullied so relentlessly the other kids just call him 'Porko' — before he's dragged into another world and, via a very literal fruit of evolution, glows up into an overpowered pretty boy who mostly just wants to be left alone.

It's wish fulfillment with the subtlety of a brick. And yet the self-deprecating narration is genuinely funny in places, and the harem-comedy beats move fast enough that you never dwell on the plot holes. It's junk food. But sometimes junk food is exactly what you're in the mood for. Three stars, and I'm not even a little ashamed.
